Your Wedding Day is one of the most important days of your life. You want it to be perfect in every way - it's only one day and you only get to do it one time! Just like the flowers that bloom in your garden each season, Weddings are inherently ephemeral - that's part of what makes them so special & memorable. There is a lot that goes into bringing a dream and vision to life for such a short period of time and that often means a lot of unintentional waste is created as a result. When I began doing Floral Design for Weddings & Events on my own, I thought about this a lot and knew that if I was going to commit to doing this thing I love so much, doing it Sustainably was the only way I wanted to.
At my core, I am a deep lover of nature and the Earth. I am happiest when I'm witnessing nature's beauty and find myself in constant reverence of her abundance, resilience, & strength. I consider my impact on the Earth in every decision I make in my personal and day-to-day life, so it's only natural that I do the same in my Art and work. As a Sustainable Floral Designer, my designs and practices are guided by my love for the Earth, my local environment + community, & the beauty of the changing seasons. Working Sustainably requires more thoughtfulness, creativity, resourcefulness, & energy but I'm so proud of what I am able to produce through this approach & would never do it any other way!
Here's how I design all of my Florals with Sustainability at the forefront:
I proudly source the majority (90-100% for each event) of the flowers and foliage that I use from local growers who prioritize regenerative and organic farming practices, alongside some foraging of wild grown ingredients. The balance is sourced domestically or from Canada (<1% of the material I use is imported from overseas!) I work directly with multiple farms & growers as well as source regionally-grown ingredients through my local wholesaler. Most of these small businesses are woman-owned & operated with a focus on fair labor + paying their employees living wages, which means that sourcing this way benefits the environment, my local economy, and my community symbiotically
I focus on using (and reusing) vintage, thrifted, & handmade vessels + hard goods, cultivating a thoughtful library of vases, vessels, candles, and more that are versatile and timeless
I am a 100% "foam-free" designer, which means instead of poisonous traditional floral foam, I use only biodegradable, compostable, + non-toxic alternatives. I also design, engineer, and build resorceful and creative mechanics using salvaged, recyclable, + naturally-derived materials to create everything from sculptural centerpieces to dramatic and meadowy installations

Though always minimal, any leftover ingredients are dried for reuse, composted, and donated to a local assisted living facility near my studio, sharing the beauty of your flowers beyond your celebration

Your love story is the foundation of what I'll create for you. As with all of my work, my florals are for every couple – no matter your race, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, age, ability, & beyond

My Flower Journey
My Floral Design journey is as unexpected as my designs! Always a lover of Flowers, I casually dappled in Floral Design academically through a semester-long course at the University of Rhode Island and later in a class at the Floral Art School in Los Angeles. For nearly two decades I worked in various facets of Interior Design, Visual Merchandising, Textile Design, & Retail Management around the country (Connecticut, Rhode Island, Boston, New York City, San Francisco, & Los Angeles) where I built a skillset that would (albeit accidentally) lend itself perfectly to the craft of Floral Design.
Things started to get serious between me and flowers in 2019 when I began making floral arrangements and using plants almost daily in my work as a Photo Stylist + Set Designer in LA. Upon my return to New England in 2021, I serendipitously found myself as the Assistant Floral Design Manager at Weatherlow Florals and was given the gift of being mentored by local flower-legend Phoebe Poole. My time working with Phoebe taught me the positive impacts that thoughtful farming & event design practices can have and laid the foundation for my path into Sustainable Floral Design.
Since then, I have flowered countless weddings and events from backyard soirees to castles & mansions and have grown my skill-set, flower knowledge, and repertoire in ways I'd never imagined! In addition to flowering for the folks who book with me, I also continue to freelance and collaborate with other talented designers from all-over the country. I believe deeply and whole-heartedly that artists are forever students and gain so much when we connect in our craft and learn from eachother.
Today, working with flowers feels like a truly natural evolution for me. Now one of my favorite artistic practices, creating expressive, beautiful, & intentional art with them to be part of real-life love stories is an impactful, meditative, & inspired way for me to celebrate my love for Nature & our planet.

Kind Words
Client Testimonials
"Working with Nicole was an absolute dream! I love the look of flowers but didn't have them as a priority on my list when it came to budgeting for everything involved in planning a wedding. Nicole was extremely informative, professional, personable and realistic in our initial call, listening to my thoughts and vision while also providing feedback and insight as an expert on what was possible and where we could meet my vision and budget together. I gave Nicole free reign with flowers and artistic creativity (which I HIGHLY recommend) and only provided feedback on general theme and colors. Nicole DELIVERED! My flowers were gorgeous and perfectly aligned with what I was hoping for that day. Nicole also expertly creates pieces that help the flowers remain true to their natural beauty and roots from where they originally came in a way that steers from the manicured bouquets that are often displayed at larger events (which I really appreciated). Everything felt natural, classic, and simply elegant in the perfect way. Nicole also is extremely sustainable (which is rare to find in this industry) and is so innovative in what and how she uses it (I had blueberries in my bouquet)! The flowers ended up being one of my favorite parts and I am so so thankful that I found Nicole and let her do her thing. Not to mention she is a wonderful and kind soul who is so personable. Thank you for everything!" - Julie & Alex

"We wanted to send you a heartfelt thank you for the incredible job you did with the flowers. The color combo was so spot on and the look was exactly as I imagined it. I received so many compliments on the floral arrangements. Everyone thought it was different and fun/whimsical in a way they had not seen before, while also being so classy and fitting for the setting. Lots of specific comments on the Chuppah as well!! I could continue to rave about the flowers but it's also worth noting how great it was working with you. From the moment we met, you were the consummate professional and I was able to really trust you. Given all the different vendors you end up working with on your wedding day, having someone I trusted and felt like they understood my vision was such a pleasure." - Danielle & Michael
